Why I got Baptized
I decided to be baptized, because I am a sinner. I hate to think that that's the bottom line, but it is. I am a sinner, and I needed baptism that I might not be dead in my own sins. I got baptized because I needed to be baptized. I got baptized to save my own neck.
I pray incessantly that the Lord might use me to the fullest extent in the outworking of His Will; but I chose to be submerged for my own sake.

I praise my Father and always give Him thanks for adopting me into His loving family, who have constantly taken care of me; but I entered those good waters for the hope of my own resurrection.
I got baptized, because I was once without God in the world. I had no covenant with Him, nor any title to one particle of dirt in the "new earth" to come. At that time, I prayed for forgiveness in vain.
I got baptized, because God Himself warned me in numerous pages of His Own Written Word that Christ is coming- and coming speedily. If Christ had returned already, then he would have seen me in all my shameful nakedness.
I wanted baptism, for without it the Gospel message was but a death-threat to me. I did not get baptized to fulfill all righteousness, nor did I get baptized to save the world. I got baptized, because of my own wickedness. I got baptized to save myself.
Our God has opened the way to us for something better through the death of His Son. By baptism we embark upon that way. We enter covenant with our Creator and with the greatest King this world will ever know. We receive forgiveness of sins to make that way easier to tread.
Without baptism we are lost- without promise, without hope, without life, without God.
I chose baptism, because it was the only choice worth making.
