Why I got Baptized
By: Kate Lawrence
I got baptized when I was fifteen. You may think getting baptized at a young age is a bad idea, or you may think that there is no certain age you should or shouldn't get baptized. Getting baptized was a choice I made on my own; it was something I decided myself. That whole year the subject of baptism was on my mind. The things that were going through my mind were...
Am I too young?
Should I wait till I have more knowledge of the gospel?

What if I do something wrong after I get baptized?
What if I fail my interview?
I had many more thoughts about it but I realized a lot. It doesn't matter what age you are, if you feel ready and you want to commit your life to God why wait? Also, knowledge grows as you get older and you can learn a lot while being baptized. You don't have to know every single thing about the Bible; knowledge will progress as you grow older. When I asked myself, "What if I do something wrong after I get baptized?" I thought everyone makes mistakes and everyone has troubles. You can't run from these things its apart of life and God loves you no matter what.
The interview was a big reason why I was nervous to get baptized. The thought of failing it, or the thought of someone telling me I'm not ready scared me. Everyone that I asked said that they were nervous about it too when they got baptized but it was easy. I took a deep breath and went through with it and it was very laid back and comforting. So any of you thinking of getting baptized but are scared about the interview, don't worry, it really isn't that bad at all and if you have love for God and His plan and want to live your life towards Him you will do great! Getting baptized was a great decision I made, I love God and I want to live my life serving Him.
